Plug’n Drive, the Canadian Electricity Association (CEA) and the Canadian Automobile Association (CAA) announced the winners of the 2019 Electric Vehicle (EV) Awards. The award ceremony took place at EV2019VÉ, Canada’s premiere electric vehicle conference and trade show in Québec City.

The Electric Vehicle Awards recognize car dealerships and electrical utilities that demonstrate outstanding leadership in the sale and promotion of electric vehicles. Car dealerships are awarded that combine impressive sales, marketing efforts and community outreach to actively increase the number of EV customers on the road. Electrical utilities are rewarded on the merits and impacts of utility-led EV programs and initiatives in their service areas.

“We have all heard the negative media about dealerships and electric vehicles,” said Cara Clairman, President and CEO of Plug’n Drive. “With these awards, we want to focus on the positive; those who are really doing amazing things to promote and sell EVs.”

The winners were selected by a panel of top Canadian EV industry experts from across the non-profit, academic, automobile and electricity sectors. This year’s winners are:

This year’s winners are making electric vehicles and information about them increasingly accessible. Collectively, their efforts and results deliver environmental and economic benefits that extend beyond their communities to all Canadians.

“Electrifying personal vehicles represents the next best step to meeting Canada’s environmental targets and builds on our clean energy advantages,” said Francis Bradley, Chief Operating Officer and Vice-President Public Affairs, Canadian Electricity Association.

This year’s EV Awards winners were selected for going above and beyond the call of duty to demonstrate their commitment to accelerating EV uptake and ensuring a cleaner and more sustainable future.
