Global data cable, network and CCTV tester manufacturer IDEAL Networks has donated 26 testers to the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) Local 353 Education and Training department in Toronto to help support its education programmes.

The donation included VDV II cable verifiers, NaviTEK NT network troubleshooters, SignalTEK NT network transmission testers and SecuriTEST IP CCTV testers for use in Network Cabling Specialist (NCS) trade school and night school programs.

“We really appreciate the generous product donation, and the students who had an opportunity to be introduced to our partners at IDEAL Networks and see the products also expressed this firsthand,” says Susan Boorman, Director of Education and Training for IBEW Local 353.

The gifted testers were presented to IBEW 353’s Education Committee by Jim Hunter, Vice President Sales North America for IDEAL Networks, who also met a group of NCS Basic trade school students on his visit to its Toronto training center.

“We are delighted to have an opportunity to support this very impressive training and education center in delivering a wide range of important courses that support the electrical industry in Canada,” says Jim Hunter.

To meet the needs of electrical contractors and network technicians, the test equipment range from IDEAL Networks includes products for those working with data and network cable, CCTV, datacoms and industrial Ethernet systems.  The easy to use testers, which are available from a network of trusted distribution partners across Canada, are designed to help users pinpoint and solve issues quickly. Users can also carry out installations to the highest quality standards with proof of performance to reassure customers.

The IBEW Local 353 is a dedicated electrical union representing approximately 11,000 members working across a variety of electrical disciplines throughout central Ontario. It has been offering education and technical courses since 1977 and trains more than 1000 members per year with more than 40 different courses available each semester.
