Electric Avenue Offers Free EV Charger to Enel X Commercial Customers Following Market Exit

October 4, 2024

In response to Enel X’s recent decision to exit the North American market, leaving over 170,000 EV chargers orphaned, Electric Avenue is stepping up to support affected commercial customers with a limited-time offer. Electric Avenue will provide a free Watti Pro Lite 48A commercial EV charger to every Enel X commercial customer wishing to replace an orphaned Level 2 charger, offering a solution to those left without software support for their charging infrastructure.

To qualify for the free replacement, customers must:

  1. Purchase a 5-year Enterprise Software package from Electric Avenue.
  2. Ship their inoperable Level 2 Enel X/Juicebox charger to Electric Avenue’s warehouse and cover shipping of the replacement charger.
Electric Avenue Offers Free EV Charger to Enel X Commercial Customers Following Market Exit

The replacement is Electric Avenue’s Watti Pro Lite 48A commercial EV charger, featuring a black finish, 18 ft (5.5 m) cable, and WIFI/LAN connectivity. This charger, valued at $1,599.98 CAD, offers a flexible, reliable solution for commercial EV charging with the latest open-source technology.

Mark MacDonald, President of Electric Avenue, said “We understand the difficult situation Enel X customers are facing, and we want to offer a seamless path forward. Our open-source Watti Pro Lite charger is the ideal replacement, ensuring that commercial customers remain connected and fully operational. By providing this free charger, we hope to ease the transition while reinforcing our commitment to customer-centric, sustainable EV charging solutions.”

A Customer-Centric Solution

Enel X’s sudden market exit has exposed the vulnerabilities of closed-source EV charging systems, which rely on proprietary software to function. Electric Avenue’s offer represents a commitment to open-source standards, ensuring that customers have the freedom to choose the network and software provider that suits their needs best.

This limited-time offer underscores Electric Avenue’s dedication to supporting the EV charging industry’s long-term viability and sustainability. Customers who opt for the Watti Pro Lite replacement can feel confident that their new chargers will remain operational and adaptable, no matter how the market evolves.

How to Redeem this Offer

To take advantage of this offer, Enel X commercial customers can visit goelectricave.com/enel-replacement-offer to purchase the qualifying 5-year Enterprise Software package and initiate the replacement process. Electric Avenue will honour this offer until December 31, 2024.
