Last year, Electro-Federation Canada published a research study on low-voltage DC (LVDC) power and the implications and opportunities this technology will have on the electrical market. Recently, EFC learned that the Canadian government has a vested interest in promoting LVDC power to remote communities, the new Canadian Electrical Code is in effect and now includes updates for LVDC installation and use, and CSA is forming a new technical committee for LVDC.

NTPC is pleased to report that the Variable Speed Generator (VSG) Project in Aklavik has reached a major milestone with successful commissioning of the test unit.
