TransAlta Renewables Inc. has announced that its indirect majority-owned subsidiary, Kent Hills Wind LP (the “Issuer”), priced an approximately $260 million bond offering, by way of a private placement, which will be secured by, among other things, a first ranking charge over all assets of the Issuer (the “Financing”). The bonds will be amortizing and will bear interest from their date of issue at a rate of 4.454%, payable quarterly and maturing on November 30, 2033.

The Renewable Energy Program (REP) has positioned Alberta to be Canada’s largest market for new wind energy investment for the next decade. The REP ensures this by providing contracts for 5,000 MW of new renewable energy capacity, in order to reach the Alberta government’s goal of 30 per cent of electricity coming from renewable sources by 2030.
Electric fishing boats could be the answer to opening up the Welland Recreational Canal in St. Catherines Ontario to another user group, says David McLeod. “We have a user group asking to fish on the water,” the Ward 2 councillor said at a Tuesday night meeting during discussion on a Go Quiet bylaw report.
On average, more than 110 kids under 15 end up in the emergency department each year in Ontario because of an electrical injury. More than half of those hurt are under age five. Research has shown that even mild shocks can have long-term after effects. Today, the Electrical Safety Authority (ESA) launched a new initiative to help Ontario parents prevent shocks at home.
