STELPRO Raises $25,000 to Support the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation
Stelpro recently participated in a charity run to raise funds for the CHU Sainte-Justine Foundation. The company raised $25,000 this year, bringing the total amount of donations from Stelpro over the past seven years to $131,750. Stelpro is pleased that 100 employees took part in the 12th Edition of “La Grande Virée des Sentiers du Mont-Saint-Bruno” in Saint-Bruno, Quebec on June 7th.
NEMA Launches LE 6-2014: Procedure for Determining Target Efficacy Ratings for Commercial, Industrial, and Residential Luminaires
The NEMA launch of LE 6-2014 provides a procedure for the determination of TER for luminaires under laboratory test conditions and describes categories or types of product used in common indoor and outdoor lighting applications. This standard does not apply to luminaires for specialized applications, including but not limited to products intended to be aimed, accent luminaires, rough or hazardous use luminaires or emergency lighting.
Canada’s Wind Energy Industry Reaches Milestone
As Global Wind Day celebrations take place around the globe the Canadian Wind Energy Association (CanWEA) reports that Canada’s wind energy industry has taken another leap forward. With the commissioning of the K2 Wind Power Project in southwestern Ontario this month, Canada has now become the 7th country in the world to surpass 10,000 MW of installed wind energy capacity.
From Our Readers: Cable Ties Used to Help Heal Turtle’s Shell
The Wildlife Rehabilitation Center at the Wisconsin Humane Society recently took in Gertie, a painted turtle who was found on the side of the road after she was hit by a car. The turtle’s shell was left shattered, so Scott Diehl, the centre’s director, used epoxy glue and cable ties to mend it back together and allow the animal to heal.

Last week was grand opening of the new advanced manufacturing and customer experience center in its Mebane facility
