A point of discussion that I have heard many times from end users is their concern over electric baseboard heating, and electric heating in general.
Total investment in building construction decreased 1.7% to $15.2 billion in September, after reaching a record high in August. This can be attributed to decreases in the non-residential sector (-8.5% to $4.5 billion) which were partially offset by increases in the residential sector investment (+1.6% to $10.7 billion).

Total investment in building construction rebounded in January, up 6.7% from December to $14.8 billion. Gains in the residential sector (+9.0% to $10.4 billion) led investment for the month, as the non-residential sector continued to moderate the overall rate of investment in building construction (+1.5% to $4.4 billion).
Canada’s clean energy sector employed 298,000 Canadians as of 2017. What’s more, it’s growing in value by 4.8% every year — a third faster than Canada’s economy as a whole (3.6%).
