June 2, 2025

Sonepar is pleased to announce the promotion of Rob Thibeault to President Robertson Electric effective June 2, 2025.

Rob joined Robertson in 2017, bringing with him extensive experience in retail and marketing. Rob’s skill and dedication quickly saw him taking on additional responsibilities in operations, pricing, and analytics. Demonstrating a keen understanding of the business, Rob’s role evolved, culminating in his progression to general business leadership under the guidance of President Rick Campbell.

Following the acquisition of Robertson by Sonepar in 2024, Rob’s guidance and insight have been invaluable to the acquisition process and its early success. His multifaceted experience and strategic insights have been instrumental in driving the integration with Sonepar forward, ensuring continuous growth and innovation throughout the organization.

Rick Campell

In his new position as President, Rob will become a member of Sonepar’s Executive Leadership Team, reporting directly to Sonepar Canada Interim President, Serge Leblanc.

With Rob transitioning to the role of President at Robertson, Robertson’s current president Rick Campell, will move to the newly created role of Executive Advisor at Sonepar Canada.

Sonepar is grateful to have Rick step into this new role, where his expertise will be leveraged on key strategic projects across the Sonepar Canada network.  Under Rick’s leadership Robertson grew to become a leading national distributor in Canada.  Rick is highly respected not only among Robertson associates, but across the electrical industry by vendors, customers and competitors alike. In his new position, Rick will continue to provide transitional leadership at Robertson, while lending his expertise to other areas of the business.

Congratulations to Rob Thibeault as he takes on this significant leadership role and to Rick as he transitions to a broader advisory role within Sonepar.
