Building Construction Investment Reaches $621 Million in August

Latest data from Statistics Canada shows investment in building construction in Saskatchewan increased by 17.3 per cent in August 2026 compared to August 2025 (seasonally adjusted).

“Investment we are seeing in new homes, schools, factories and commercial buildings reflects confidence in Saskatchewan’s economy and supports the needs of our province,” Trade and Export Development Minister Warren Kaeding said. “The benefits from building construction does not stop at the work site – they ripple throughout local economies, creating jobs, supporting local businesses and helping build strong communities across Saskatchewan.”

Regina recorded a significant increase of 54.7 per cent in August, reaching a value of $161 million.

Investment in building construction is calculated based on the total spending value on building construction within the province.
