Ontario Bolsters Skills Ontario Funding to Promote Skilled Trades Among Students

The Ontario government announced an additional $3.5 million in finding for Skills Ontario. The funding is on top of $1.5 million announced earlier this year.
The investment is meant to help Skills Ontario promote skilled trades as a career path among youth during the 2020-2021 school year.
Monte McNaughton, Minister of Labour, Training and Skills Development said they have identified grades 7 & 8 as a key point in career path decision making, adding they will look introduce students to skilled trades as early as grade 1.
