Invest in Your Teamโs Future โ Up to $1,500 in Training Credits Available
The ECAO Emerging Contractor Training Grant is designed to support electrical contractors with smaller workforces in Ontario by removing financial barriers to professional development. This initiative provides up to $1,500 in training credits per contractor to encourage skills development, safety improvements, and workforce enhancement.
Program Highlights:
- Annual Budget:ย $20,000
- Maximum Credit per Contractor:ย $1,500
- Eligible Contractors:ย Electrical contractors with smaller workforces who face financial barriers to investing in professional development for their team.
- Eligible Training:ย All ECAO-offered courses through theย Learning Centreย andย Certi-Fireย (excluding theย PROMEXย program).
- Program Period:ย January 1, 2026 โ December 31, 2026
- Adjudication Process:ย Funding is limited to $20,000 across two adjudication periods ($10,000 each). Applications received by each periodโs deadline (May 31 or October 31, 2026) will be reviewed together, taking into account factors such as firm size, hours worked, and financial need. Early application is strongly encouraged to secure your spot in the review queue.
Eligibility Requirements
Contractor Qualifications
- Electrical contractors with smaller workforces who face financial barriers to investing in professional development for their team.
- Current member in good standing with local ECA and ECAO.
- Operating in Ontario.
Training Eligibility
- All courses offered through ECAOโsย Learning Centreย andย Certi-Fireย from January 1, 2026, to December 31, 2026.
- Excluded Programs:ย PROMEX.
Ineligible Expenses
The grant does not cover:
- Travel expenses related to training
- Accommodation costs
- Meals or personal expenses
- Courses outside the ECAOย Learning Centreย andย Certi-Fire.
- Training completed outside the eligible program period (January 1 โ December 31, 2026)
