AEMC AC/DC Current Probe Model SL306

July 14, 2025

The NEW AC/DC Current Probes Models SL306 & SL361 replace Models SL206 & SL261. These precision AC/DC current probes can measure currents without breaking the circuit in which they flow. They use Hall Effect technology to measure direct and alternating currents.

Both probes are equipped with key usability features, including a reset button, range overload indicator, power supply indicator and an automatic standby mode to extend battery life. Powered by a 9 V battery or external 5 VDC via micro-USB, and housed in a compact, ergonomic design, these probes are built for versatility. Their unique long, narrow-shaped nose allows them to access hard to reach places which makes them ideal for adapting to a range of measurement environments.

The Model SL306 probes are compatible with many millivolt measuring instruments featuring banana inputs, including multimeters, watt meters and recorders. It has two sensitivity sensors for measuring currents from 5 mA up to 60 AAC or 80 ADC. The Model SL361 can measure currents from 100 mA to 100 A peak and is compatible with oscilloscopes and meters providing accurate measurement and analysis of complex AC and DC signals. It’s ideal for capturing both low level and high energy waveform disturbances with confidence and clarity.

SL306 Key Features:

  • Measurement Range: Capable of measuring current from 5 mA to 1.5 AAC | 2ADC; 50 mA to 60 AAC | 80ADC
  • Load Impedance: A minimum input impedance of >1 MΩ and ≤ 100 pF.
  • Easy Reset: Quickly reset the probe with the push of a button.
  • Range Overload Indicator: Visual warning for overload conditions to ensure safe operation.
  • Power Supply Indicator: Stay aware of the probe’s power status at a glance.
  • Automatic Standby Mode: Prolongs battery life, enhancing efficiency in the field.
  • Jaw Capacity: Accommodates up to a single 4/0 AWG 0.5 in (11.8 mm) diameter conductor, providing flexibility for various applications.
  • Category Ratings: Suitable for installations rated up to 600 V CAT III and 300 V CAT IV.

Versatile Power Options

Powered by an internal battery or a standard 5V DC power adapter via its micro-USB port, the SL306 features automatic DC zero adjustment and a built-in standby function to extend battery life. The SL306 adapts to your power preferences, ensuring it’s ready whenever you are.

Universal Compatibility

The AC/DC Current Probe Model SL306 is universally compatible. Its cord is equipped with 2 insulated male banana plugs allowing it to be connected to and compatible with any  AEMC® and non-AEMC® digital multimeters, voltmeters, or any voltage-measuring instruments.
