Delta Transformers Enhances General Purpose Portfolio

July 13, 2026

Delta Transformers has enhanced its transformer portfolio, providing customers with two clearly defined low voltage distribution transformer solutions designed to meet a broad range of commercial, institutional, and industrial applications.

The new portfolio consists of the General Purpose Standard Series and the newly minted General Purpose Flex Series, offering customers a streamlined product selection process while delivering the reliability, efficiency, and installation features they expect from Delta Transformers. The Standard Series replaces Delta’s Commercial Series and now includes a 10-year warranty and 10kV BIL rating as standard, providing greater value and protection. Delta’s existing General Purpose transformer line has been renamed the Flex Series to better reflect its extensive customization capabilities and application flexibility for more demanding projects.

“Delta continuously looks for ways to simplify our product offerings while delivering greater value to our customers,” said Mario Mongrain, National Sales Manager at Delta Transformers. “Our new General Purpose portfolio provides a clear path for customers, whether they require a dependable standard solution or a highly configurable transformer engineered for specialized applications. By clearly defining our Standard Series and renaming our

existing General Purpose line as the Flex Series, we’re making it easier for customers to select the right transformer for their application.”

The new General Purpose portfolio has been engineered to deliver dependable performance across a wide range of applications while addressing the evolving needs of contractors, distributors, engineers, and facility operators. Both series include installation-friendly features and are designed to comply with the latest North American energy efficiency requirements.

Key Benefits

Enhanced Standard Features

The General Purpose Standard Series now includes a 10-year warranty and 10kV BIL winding insulation as part of the standard offering, providing greater protection and long-term value.

Designed for Easier Installation

Both series are equipped with installer-focused features including factory-installed lugs, grounding lugs, separate high and low voltage terminal boards, standard knock-outs, expanded neutral bars, integrated mounting features, and installer-friendly enclosure designs to help reduce installation time and labor costs.

Proven Reliability and Performance

General Purpose transformers feature durable Type 3R enclosures suitable for indoor and outdoor installations and are manufactured to meet the latest NRCan and DOE energy efficiency requirements.

Flexibility for More Demanding Applications

For projects requiring additional customization, Delta’s Flex Series offers expanded options including EVI insulation technology, lower temperature rise options, K-factor ratings, custom voltages and impedances, thermal monitoring, surge protection devices, stainless steel enclosures, and other application-specific enhancements.

North American Manufacturing

All Delta General Purpose transformers are manufactured in North America, with the Flex Series proudly built in Canada.

The new portfolio reflects Delta’s ongoing commitment to delivering practical, efficient transformer solutions that simplify specification and installation while providing the performance customers rely on. By offering both a Standard Series and a highly configurable Flex Series, Delta enables customers to select the solution that best fits their application requirements.
