Kerrwil is thrilled to announce that is awarding the J.W. Kerr Continuing Education Scholarship Award to University of Windsor student Julia Blasl. With consistent and solid achievements in her marketing and business studies, Julia aims to pursue a marketing position where she can leverage her natural creativity in the tactics of a discipline that addresses everything from segmentation to product development and promotion. There is a strong electrical connection here as well: Julia’s father Richard Blasl is active in the electrical industry in his role as National Sales Manager with Hubbell Lighting.

The Kerrwil’s J.W. Kerr Continuing Education Scholarship Award honoursthe memory of Kerrwil founder J.W. (Jack) Kerr. The Kerrwil Scholarship Award is granted to a university or college graduate in a Canadian school who has completed at least their second year in a Engineering or Business program with a minimum cumulative average of 75% and has a desire to drive forward in a marketing, product management in the electrical industry. Applicants must be either a current employee or relative of someone currently employed within the Canadian Electrical industry, including electrical wholesale, electrical equipment manufacturing representatives or electrical manufacturing.

The entire team at Kerrwil warmly congratulates Julia for her achievements and wishes her continued success in her studies and in the pursuit of her career goals.

Joris Myny, Chair of Electro-Federation Canada (EFC)’s Scholarship Program, and Senior Vice president of Siemens Canada, has said that the challenge of engaging university and college students is critical in our industry. His challenge to the electrical industry brought on an overwhelming response for this EFC initiative, now in its 20th year, as the industry rallied to commit $120,500 across 52 scholarships. For Kerrwil and electrical manufacturers and distributors, the scholarship program is more than funding students. It is an opportunity to promote our industry in every Canadian university and college and showcase the electrical industry as a viable career choice in Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Finance, Management, Operations, Information Technology, and Human Resources.
