Ron Dizy joins Spark Power Advisory Board

Ron Dizy, Managing Director of the Advanced Energy Centre at the MaRS Discovery District in Toronto, ON, has joined Spark Power’s Advisory Board. Under Dizy’s leadership, the centre is helping the energy system adopt innovation more quickly and capture new opportunities afforded by new technologies.

Spark Power Corp., an emerging leader in the Canadian power and utility sector, has a dual focus on developing major renewables projects and providing critical power reliability services to global Fortune 100 asset owners and operators. The business was launched in 2009 to capitalize on development and asset management opportunities in renewable energy. The company has since expanded into providing niche technical and professional services to the renewable and traditional power and energy sector.

Dizy was previously President and CEO of ENBALA Power Networks. Based on his perspective on the smart grid, he was recruited to the executive committee of the board for the Ontario Energy Association and the association for demand response and smart grid. He was also elected chair of the Corporate Partners Committee of the Ontario Smart Grid Forum. His entire career has been focused on bringing new technologies to evolving markets, including spending nearly 10 years as a venture capitalist (both as a direct investor and as a pension fund manager), co-founding a company specializing in artificial intelligence and gathering experience in major consulting firms.

Dizy joins an accomplished group of professionals on the Advisory Board, including:

  • Howard I. Wetston, a prominent leader in administrative law and regulation with expertise in securities, energy, competition and other regulated industries
  • Larry D. Taylor, President of Taylor Made Solutions and CEO Group Leader for CEO Global Network
  • Daniel Péloquin, CEO and Managing Partner at Daniel Péloquin Consultant. Péloquin has been involved in the manufacturing and exporting of products and services serving the electrical transmission and distribution (T&D) industry and end users on international markets for close to 35 years.

  • Gord Reynolds, a Canadian power and utility sector leader who was most recently the Managing Director of Capgemini’s Canadian Utilities Practice
  • Peter F. Clark, an independent director of STT Enviro Corp. former Chairman of CPI Plastics Group Ltd., and former President and Chief Executive Officer of Clark Shoes

The Advisory Board guides the company and senior management on strategic initiatives, operational imperatives, and provides access to its valued network.
