Rittal Welcomes Aztec Electrical Supply as Latest Modification Partner,

EIN Rittal Aztec 400

June 5, 2020

Aztec Electrical Supply, one of Rittal System Ltd.’s electrical and automation distributors in Canada, has enhanced their enclosure modification capabilities with the acquisition of the Perforex machining centre, which can be deployed for drilling, thread tapping, wiring and milling when machining enclosures and panels of all sizes.

Aztec specializes in supplying quality automation and electrical products to electrical contractors, manufacturing plants, O.E.M.s and custom machine builders. Their comprehensive inventory includes Rittal’s industry-leading enclosures, climate control solutions such as air conditioners and fans, and power distribution systems.

Says Frank Dinis, Partner, Aztec Electric Supply, “Our primary focus is to provide electrical contractors, manufacturing facilities and machine builders with a single source for the support of all electrical controls and automation components. With the Perforex Machining Centre, we are capable of providing custom enclosure builds and modifications, saving valuable time and expense for our customers.”

Tim Rourke, President, Rittal Systems Ltd., adds, “We are pleased that our partner Aztec has integrated the Perforex into their Modification Centre, in order to offer their customers enhanced productivity by automating and streamlining manual modification and wiring processes”.

Aztec has a team of trained staff well versed with the operation of the Perforex, to be able to modify enclosures in record time, leading to cost-effective production and enhanced quality, while adding repeatability to processes and reducing lead-times for customers.

The Perforex machine enables 10 hours of panel production work to be completed in just 90 minutes. It delivers not only time savings but increased accuracy and reduced waste with its CNC precision-capabilities. Perforex units call upon up to 20 tools in the magazine for operations including drilling tapping, milling and circular thread milling,

Perforex can handle clampable panels up to 3600×2300 mm, and since programming is faster than manual marking, the system is economically advantageous from a batch size of one. Perhaps most importantly, there are important design advantages inherent in Rittal enclosures that are amplified with the Perforex machining center.

Rittal Configuration System (RiCS) tool enables the complete visualisation & configuration of enclosures from a single Junction Box to a bayed lineup of TS8s, in a 2D or 3D model, and over 3,000 accessory items can be selected to finish off a build. The configurator data can be sent directly to the Perforex Machining Centres for quick and efficient processing.
