SmartlockPro Dual Function AFCI/GFCI receptacles offer protection both from electrical fires that could result from arc-faults and from electrical shock due to ground faults in one device, satisfying National Electrical Code® (NEC®) requirements for both AFCI and GFCI protection.  Tamper-resistant hospital grade versions help satisfy a recent requirement of the Joint Commission, which requires tamper-resistant receptacles with arc fault and ground fault interruption to be installed in all patient accessible areas in behavioral health units.
