From deserts to the tropics and from mountains to open plains, modern wind turbine designs have been making wind energy available in almost every region on the planet. This is true in Canada’s vast landscape as well with wind turbines installed in all ten provinces and two territories. While not uniquely Canadian, those of us in the great white north can lay claim to our share of ice, snow and low temperatures.
This year’s EFC 2022 Manufacturer Corporate Engagement Award recipient is Leviton Canada. This recognition is presented to an EFC member company that demonstrates leadership in committee and event participation.
Hitachi has a deal with industrial giant ABB to purchase 80% of their Power Grids division for $6.4bn. The move marks a transition for Hitachi, which will look to expand its energy solutions offerings by combining ABB’s power grids business with their digital technology division.
Schneider Electric has been ranked the world’s most sustainable corporation in the annual list compiled by Corporate Knights, a media and research company focused on corporate sustainability performance.
Alberta’s government is investing $3.2 million to train more Albertans for jobs in the construction industry. The 33-month pilot project is a partnership with the Alberta Construction Association, End Poverty Edmonton and the Edmonton Mennonite Centre for Newcomers.
