MCEE 2025 Marks Big Return to the Palais des congrès

Canada’s largest Mechanical, Plumbing, Hydronics, HVAC, Electrical and Lighting Expo did not disappoint.

On April 24-25, more than 6,000 attendees flocked to the Palais des congrès in the heart of Montreal to attend the Mechanical, Conditioning, Electrical, and Equipment (MCEE) trade show to see the latest products, learn about new processes and technology, and network with other industry professionals.

With a sprawling 200,000 sq. ft. of exhibition space, MCEE saw more than 350 exhibitors from Quebec, Canada, and the United States in attendance for this year’s show. New this year, the Electrical section was located in the center of the exhibition floor, which was an improved location from the 2023 edition.

EFC was also on-site with a booth and had the opportunity to talk with attendees about the association’s initiatives and campaigns that help drive the industry forward.

A popular feature of MCEE are the industry seminars hosted by experts in plumbing, HVAC, lighting, and electricity. These seminars also fulfill continuing education requirements for attendees. This year’s show featured several speakers and topics of relevance to those in the electrical industry, including:

  • Jean-Francois Ouellet, Signify addressed the impact of light quality on different types of lighting controls;
  • Jérémy Bastien, Technirep who spoke on electric infrared heating, and how to choose the right electric infrared heating solution; and
  • Camil Larose, Hitech Lighting presented on understanding different lighting control strategies.

MCEE is also an opportunity for attendees to discover new products in the industry, in categories like interior and exterior lighting products, domestic electrical products, and commercial, institutional and industrial electrical products.

Tom Mason, EFC VP, Membership & Channel Development, was pleased to attend MCEE this year and was impressed with the scale of this year’s show.

“The MCEE Conference in Montreal was a tremendous success. Attendance was strong, and the quality of attendees exceeded expectations,” Mason said.

“We were especially pleased with the positive feedback from our Electrical members, many of whom praised the new dedicated area and actively participated in the engaging speaker sessions.”

During MCEE, EFC was pleased to participate in an off-site event at Deloitte’s Smart Factory on April 24. Members of EFC’s Supply Chain Network experienced firsthand the power of smart technologies in a fully automated factory and warehouse environment. The innovation centre showcased an impressive suite of integrated solutions that highlight what is possible with advanced automation. We encourage all EFC members to visit the Deloitte Smart Factory to see these transformative technologies in action. For planning and scheduling tours, please reach out to tsfmontreal@deloitte.ca and mention you are an EFC member.

EFC is honoured to have participated in this year’s show, and would like to thank MCEE’s partner associations that made this year’s show a success: the Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating (CIPH), the Corporation of Master Pipe Mechanics of Quebec (CMMTQ), the Corporation of Master Electricians of Quebec (CMEQ), and the Corporation des entreprises de traitement de l’air et du froid (CETAF).

We are already looking forward to the next edition of MCEE in 2027, and we hope to see you there!
