EFC Scholarship Program Calls on Communities to Help Students Discover Careers in Canada’s Electrical Industry

As demand for talent continues to grow across Canada’s electrical and automation sector, Electro-Federation Canada (EFC) is calling on parents, families, educators, and community networks to help connect students with career opportunities through its 2026 Scholarship Program, now open for applications.
With more than $160,000 in funding available across 60+ scholarships, the program supports post-secondary students pursuing studies aligned with the electrical industry, including engineering, technology, business, supply chain, and finance.
While the industry plays a critical role in powering Canada’s economy and energy transition, awareness of its diverse career pathways remains limited among students and their influencers.
“Students often look to parents, relatives, teachers, and mentors when making decisions about their future,” said Tom Mason, Vice President, Membership and Channel Development, Electro-Federation Canada. “By reaching these trusted networks, we can help more young people discover an industry that offers stability, innovation, and long-term career growth.”
EFC is encouraging industry stakeholders and media partners to amplify the message beyond traditional student audiences. Career decisions are often shaped by trusted voices in a student’s immediate circle.
From electricians and engineers to marketing professionals and data analysts, the electrical industry offers a wide spectrum of career options that are often overlooked.
The EFC Scholarship Program provides financial support, typically ranging from $1,000 to $3,500 per award, and helps strengthen connections between students and companies across the electrical channel.
Since its inception, the program has awarded more than $2.5 million to nearly 800 students nationwide, helping build a pipeline of skilled professionals for an industry that is essential to electrification, infrastructure development, and sustainable growth.
Eligibility and Application Details
Applicants must:
- Be Canadian citizens or permanent residents
- Be enrolled full-time in an eligible post-secondary program
- Have completed at least one year of study
- Demonstrate a strong academic record
Students may apply for up to three scholarships through a single application.
