New Vice Chair Named to Alberta Safety Codes Council

Eaton's Scott Basinger Named to Alberta Safety Codes Council

At a recent Alberta Safety Codes Council meeting, Eaton’s Scott Basinger was appointed Vice Chair (North) for the Safety Codes Council, Electrical Sub-Council. Scott will remain the Chair for the Canadian Electrical Code Working Group / Electrical Sub-Council.

The council is governed by a Board of Directors comprising experts in the areas of governance, finance, risk management, human resources, and business.

Established in 1993, the Safety Codes Council is responsible to the Minister of Municipal Affairs to administer portions of the safety system, including accrediting the municipalities, corporations, and agencies that sell permits and inspect the work carried out under these permits, certifying and training safety codes officers who do the inspections, administering the Alberta Master Electrician Program, and working with industry through its sub-councils to recommend codes and standards.
