On Wednesday December 14, General Electric sold its $3 billion industrial solutions business, which makes electrical equipment, as part of a push to focus on its core businesses.
In an investor presentation GE said, that they are estimated to raise $4 billion from the sale of the unit as well as the previously announced sale of its water business.
The industrial solutions business has about 13,000 employees and 30 plants globally.
Eligible organizations have until August 28, 2020, to apply for funding.
The Board of ABB has unanimously appointed Björn Rosengren as Chief Executive Officer. He will join ABB on February 1, 2020 and succeed CEO, Peter Voser, in this role on March 1, 2020. At that time Peter Voser will revert to his position at ABB solely as Chairman of the Board.
The total value of building permits remained at historically high levels in April 2021, edging down 0.5% to $11.1 billion, following the record set in March.
Business has been good at Kuby, an electrical and engineering construction firm that specializes in renewable energy. “We’ve been increasing revenue three to four times year-over-year since we started,” says Jake, an electrician by training who left the oil and gas industry to start Kuby with his friend Adam Yereniuk in 2015.
