November 6-7: Supporting Women in Trades Conference, Halifax, NS

Learn about great initiatives underway across Canada to help address challenges faced by women in the skilled trades. Organized by the Canadian Apprenticeship Forum, this event is open to women in trades, employers, labour organizations, government, educators and other advocates for diversity and inclusion.

In planning the program, the Canadian Apprenticeship Forum collected the input of women’s organizations, labour groups, employers, educators and jurisdictional apprenticeship authorities from across Canada. The agenda showcases promising practices and great initiatives underway across Canada to attract, prepare, up-skill and support women in the skilled trades.

The program features plenary and concurrent sessions. Among the plenary sessions:

• Tradeswomen Panel — Lived Experience

• Educator Panel — Preparing Women for Success in the Skilled Trades

• Employer Panel — Employer Perspectives & Small-Group Discussion

• Panel — Female Inclusion from a Government Perspective
