March 3 2016

The Canadian Council of Directors of Apprenticeship (CCDA) seeks nominations for the fourth biennial Darryl Cruickshank Memorial Award. The award honours the life-long impact of the late Darryl Cruickshank on the Interprovincial Standards Red Seal Program.

In the course of his career with the Red Seal Secretariat, Cruickshank worked with industry to encourage
• apprentices to “stay the course” and complete their Red Seal training
• employers to take on the responsibility for the next generation of skilled tradespersons
• creativity and flexibility in the design of trades training systems

The award will be presented to an individual from industry in Canada who has demonstrated inspirational leadership in the promotion and development of apprenticeship training for aspiring skilled tradespersons. The award will be presented at a ceremony at the upcoming Canadian Apprenticeship Forum Conference in June 2016.

Nominations will be accepted until end-of-day April 1, 2016. Find out more: http://www.red-seal.ca/about/.1w.1rds-eng.html.
