CSA Updates Standard on General Requirements for Double-insulated Equipment

CSA Group’s Technical Subcommittee on General requirements for double insulated equipment has developed a new edition of CSA C22.2 No. 0.1:19 General requirements for double-insulated equipment. This standard supersedes the previous edition published in 1985.

The standard is intended to meet Canadian product requirements and align with the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I, and C22.2 No. 0.

This standard provides basic requirements for the evaluation of double-insulated cord-connected electrical equipment in accordance with CSA C22.1, Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.

Changes to this edition include:

a) addition of the symbols for double insulated equipment
b) updates to definitions based on current usage
c) editorial updates for clarity
