In 2030, 75% of Alberta’s building stock will consist of buildings in existence today. Accordingly, deep energy retrofits of existing buildings are an untapped trove of energy potential. However, are the retrofits we’re recommending today really best practice for the Alberta of tomorrow?

At this Calgary event, energy performance engineer Samantha Lane will discusses the challenges to today’s building industry resulting from changes to policies, the electrical grid, available fuel sources, economy, transportation, and work culture. Lane will also touch on the new STEP Codes and their impact on industry, and the impact the new government may have on energy efficiency and industries going forward.
