Valard Makes Strategic Acquisition in Ontario and Quebec Markets

As of June 17th, 2019, Valard has acquired the assets of Thirau Inc.
Thirau has a long and proud history. Founded in 1952, the company built a strong base in Quebec with the predecessor of Hydro Quebec and grew significantly as the provincial power system expanded. This subsequently led to further expansion into the US and Ontario over the next few decades.
The former Thirau will be amalgamated into the operations of Construction Valard (Quebec) Inc. and Valard Construction LP in Ontario. In addition to employee expertise and physical assets, the Thirau acquisition also brings valuable customer relationships, which will ultimately support the growth of Valard nationally.
