November 19, 2020
Appleton Group is comprised of Appleton, Nelson Firestop, O-Z/Gedney and SolaHD, along with other world-renowned brands offering an array of trusted electrical solutions for construction, industrial and hazardous environments.
As a Direct Member of ETIM NA, Appleton Group will participate in ongoing, collaborative efforts to help enhance and progress the ETIM classification standard for North American electrical products. This includes helping translate the model to regional languages as well as refine categories and associated products, features and values for industry-wide benefit.
Appleton Group joins other industry-leading manufacturers like ABB, Eaton, Rockwell Automation, Schneider Electric and Siemens, as well as distributors like Sonepar, who are already participating in ETIM NA-led committee activity to build out the classification model according to the needs of the North American electrical market and related verticals.
ETIM NA Executive Director Mary Shaw says, “We’re excited to have Appleton Group join their manufacturing peers in leveraging their extensive product knowledge to help shape the model for improved quality and communication of product data throughout the entire supply chain. With their innovative technologies, cross-application expertise and global reach, they are another leading manufacturer that will help advance the ETIM standard to benefit the electrical industry.”
According to Shaw, product experts from several ETIM NA member companies have been meeting virtually since June to advance the Power Distribution and Automation and Drives product categories. With many of these manufacturers’ overlap in the Wiring Devices product space, Shaw says activity around that product category is a logical next step for ETIM NA model development. As such, product expert committees are being formed with meetings forthcoming in the next several weeks.
Membership in ETIM NA is open to all companies and associations in ETIM’s focused industries.
