Calling all students in grades 11-12 and post-secondary school, apprentices, businesswomen, tradeswomen, and advocates for women in the skilled trades and technologies! Skills Ontario will be hosting an engaging virtual conference in celebration of International Women’s Day 2021!

This event is dedicated to empowering those who identify as women through relatable and engaging conversations. This year, International Women’s Day has an official theme: Choose to Challenge, because a challenged world is an alert world. We can choose to challenge and call out gender bias, discrimination, and stereotypes and collectively create a more gender-equal world.

Join Skills Ontario at this thought-provoking event to hear how tradeswomen are shattering stigmas and stereotypes surrounding sexism, working in a male dominated industry, being an inspiring female entrepreneur, maintaining work-life balance, and more. The Skills Ontario International Women’s Day Conference 2021 provides viewers with the opportunity to listen to and engage with women working in skilled trades and technologies. Women who are exploring and entering these careers will be able to hear firsthand from women in the industry on their experiences and advice.

The Skills Ontario International Women’s Day Conference 2021 will be an enlightening event that can be enjoyed by young women exploring the trades, those beginning to find their pathways within their skilled trades through pre-apprenticeship or apprenticeships, tradeswomen, professionals, and all who advocate for the development of women in trades.

There will also be encouraging messages from highly respected and influential leaders and tradespeople, including remarks from the Honourable Jill Dunlop, Associate Minister of Children’s and Women’s Issues.
