NETCO Launches Two New Courses as Part of its OASIS Program

March 6, 2023

The National Electrical Trade Council has launched two new courses within their OASIS program.

The new editions, Construction Electrical Estimating and Electrical Project Supervision, were developed by the Canadian Electrical Contractors Association and Saskatchewan Polytechnic.

The Construction Electrical Estimating course leads participants through a case study estimating project. In each module, the participants will learn about specific concepts, where they will then be asked to apply their newly learned knowledge to a case study project. Following the completion of this course, participants will produce a paper-based bid estimate which demonstrates their level of understanding regarding the tendering process, bid estimate best practices and the use of tools used by estimators.

Electrical Project Supervision was created and developed with intentions to better prepare supervisors with the tools and techniques to further excel within their roles.

There are 3 levels to this supervisory program, each consists of approximately 12 modules. All courses are self-paced, online, where participants can complete according to their own schedule. At the end of each module is a short knowledge check where participants must achieve 70% (could be 80% – still under reviewal) to receive certification.
