Saving energy is a huge benefit when you use a networked lighting control system. Fixtures can be turned off when not needed. Or they can be dimmed in response to available daylight or other input. Saving energy is a great reason to deploy a networked lighting control system, but it’s not the only one.
Section 34 – Signs and Outline Lighting, as outlined in Rule 34-000 Scope, is a supplementary or amendatory section of the code and applies to incandescent lamps, fluorescent lamps, high-voltage luminous discharge (cold-cathode or neon) tubes, high-intensity discharge lamps and other light-emitting sources such as LEDs.
Although there are different codes and standards for electrical systems around the world, it’s probably no surprise that electricians and maintenance techs from Canada to Australia and Pakistan to the Philippines share many of the same experiences and learn the same lessons.
SolarWindow Technologies, Inc., a firm that develops transparent electricity-generating coatings for glass windows and flexible veneers, has announced plans to develop electricity-generating flexible glass.
