In 2013, there were 93,430 apprentices who began their training. By 2019, six years into the program, those who registered in 2013 were less likely to certify in their trade and more likely to discontinue, compared with those who had registered in 2011 and 2012.
Municipalities issued building permits worth $8.2 billion in October, down 14.6% from the previous month. September’s peak was the second highest value on record, with October’s results more in line with recent months.

All building components reported gains in June, except for single-family dwellings. The total value of building permits rose in six provinces in June, led by Quebec and Manitoba.
