As part of Schneider Electric’s Innovation Summit held virtually on November 10th, Electrical Industry News Week was able to participate in a roundtable with Canadian President, Adrian Thomas. Schneider is a company involved in a number of different industries but the focus for this article is Thomas’ comments on topics relevant to the residential market, as well as on the where Canada is at when it comes to climate change.

“Network transmission media can be copper, fibre or wireless so network technicians need to be armed with troubleshooting tools that can tackle any problem they encounter,” explains Tim Widdershoven, Global Marketing Manager at IDEAL Networks. “This makes it more challenging for technicians — if errors occur, they could be located in a wide range of different media and layers of the network.”
As we start the new year, the construction industry is looking ahead to the challenges and opportunities 2022 will bring.
Between now and 2023, 67,000 new journeypersons will be required to sustain workforce certification levels across the 10 largest Red Seal trade, according to a new report prepared for the Canadian Apprenticeship Forum. Furthermore, 167,739 new apprentices will be needed to keep pace with the demand for skills and certification as journeypersons retire.
