5-Year Look at Copper Pricing

I am asked this question quite frequently, as I’m not what most consider to be a “typical electrician.” For me, it was a rather pragmatic decision. I had been working in a factory as a production worker, doing the same boring thing 800 times a day.

Since the first offshore wind turbine was installed off the coast of Denmark nearly three decades ago, offshore wind has steadily increased in popularity. The market has grown by almost 30 percent per year since 2010, reflecting a rapid reshaping of the energy mix.
Tom decides to add chickens and egg production to his cattle farming operation. He adds a chicken coup to the barn where he houses his cattle. The coup is suitably cut off from the barn and will contain an electric heater, luminaires and switches.
In this second of a two-part series, we continue discussing options to consider when designing a cable assembly or wire harness, such as the best materials to use to meet the expectations of the assembly installation, the proper termination method for the type of signal that will be transmitted over the assembly, and what safety certifications the assembly will need to comply with based on the environment. Here in Part 2: conductor twisting/cabling, shielding, outer sheaths, connectors/strain reliefs, and safety certification.
