Survey Says: Key Purchasing Factors for Contractors With Under 15 Employees

On March 30th, the EFC (Electro-Federation Canada) in collaboration with Ontario’s ESA (Electrical Safety Authority) presented on the top changes to the Ontario Electrical Code with the upcoming adoption of the 2021 Canadian Electrical Code. The presentation was hosted by EFC Ontario Region Chair John Hadley and presented by Ramy Yousef of ESA.
Investment in residential construction totalled $28.2 billion in the first quarter, up 7.6% from the same quarter of 2016.
Electrical foremen and master electricians have comparable hourly rates. Electrical journeymen come close, but apprentices and estimators are farther down the rate scale.
Edmonton and Calgary have the highest annual salary for power distribution workers, at about $90,000. Halifax comes in last at $58,958
