May 14, 2025 With over 40 years of field experience, electrical contractor Guy St-Amour developed an innovative product that led to the founding of Boîtiers STA. In 2011, a special request for a safe outlet for an 800-amp mobile load bank resulted in the prototype for a line of custom-made boxes designed for quick and secure electrical connections. Boîtiers STA quickly grew from a garage operation into a thriving business, now co-owned by Guy’s daughter, Karianne St-Amour.
The city of Vancouver is the first Canadian jurisdiction to pass a by-law regulating building emissions. The Annual Greenhouse Gas and Energy Limits bylaw will come into effect June 1st, 2024, and requires building owners for large commercial offices, retail, and residential buildings over 100,000 sq ft to report their emissions.
ECABC partner organization, the BC Construction Association (BCCA), has received over $21 million in funding from the Government of Canada’s Apprenticeship Service to enable small and medium sized employees in BC’s construction industry to hire and register first year apprentices, including qualifying ECABC members.
