UL Solutions announced it is now authorized as a third-party test house for smart home products using Matter, the Connectivity Standards Alliance’s (CSA) newly released industry-unifying standard for smart home technology.
Rule 54-000 states that this is a supplementary or amendatory section of the code and applies to community antenna distribution, equipment for the reception of radio and television broadcast transmission, and equipment employed in the normal operation of a radio station licensed by the Government of Canada as an experimental amateur radio station.
All energized electrical work tasks performed require an Energized Electrical Work Permit (EEWP) to be issued, unless exempted as outlined in the CSA Z462 Workplace electrical safety Standard, Clause 4.3 Work Involving Electrical Hazards.
