What Electrical Contractors Buy
The Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT), also known as the Industrial Internet, is transforming the way innovative businesses collect and share data.
My feet were cold. In my haste to run out the door that night when the pager chirped and informed me that it was time to get moving, I had neglected to put socks on. So now my feet were cold, and it was both distracting and inconvenient. Of course, with everything else that was going on at the moment it would have been hard to generate any sympathy from my colleagues, but still, they were cold.
Vast quantities of renewables and bi-directional flows on the grid, along with rapid cost declines and performance improvements have allowed for several major deployments of energy storage.
The entry level salary for electricians is 23% below the national average. However, there is only 4% change between mid-career and experienced electricians.
Over many years of experience in the electrical industry, I have learned that my colleagues are a “get it done” group of professionals. So, when it comes to the issues around the power quality of electricity coming into buildings from today’s challenged grid, I know there is frustration with the lack of effective options.
It should be noted that the type of control signal shouldn’t really matter — meaning that the use of analog protocols (such as 0-10V) vs. digital protocols (such as DALI or DMX) are simply the “messengers” talking in a specific language.
