HellermannTyton Double Slit Conduit Protects Pre-Terminated Cable Runs

EIN HellermannTyton HelaGuard Double Slit Corrugated Conduit

August 26, 2022

HellermannTyton announces HelaGuard Double-Slit Corrugated Conduit. The two-piece solution features one semi-circular tube that snaps over another to envelop a wire or cable bundle. This makes it possible to add flexible corrugated protection to wiring that is already connected on both ends.

Standard conduit requires installers to guide cabling into and through the length of tubing. That is less of an issue at the time of manufacture. But if the ends of the wire are soldered to a terminal or otherwise inaccessible, non-slit conduit – and even single-slit conduit – can be tedious or impossible to apply.

“The double-slit design is ideal for installers and MRO,” says Maureen Janosch, head of product management. “A technician can lay the cable over one length of the open-sided HelaGuard product and snap the other length over it to complete the installation.”

Sliding wire into standard flexible, corrugated conduit can result in wire ends snagging inside, and if the wiring has a terminal on the end, a wider than necessary conduit diameter must be used. HelaGuard Double Slit allows installers to choose a narrow diameter, saving space in cramped applications.

Three material options address the unique priorities of each market:

  • Polypropylene – entry-level price, durable for general applications
  • PA6 –UV resistant, higher temp, halogen free, best for repetitive motion such as automation
  • PA6 FR – low fire hazard, NFPA 130 compliant for markets such as rail

All are offered in six diameters and work with HellermannTyton’s standard nylon snap-on style fittings and hinged clips to serve a range of applications.
