Exports to the United States totalled 5.4 million MWh in December, 12.0% higher than the previous year, while imports shed more than a quarter of their volume to total 0.8 million MWh.
In May, Statistics Canada released data from the 2016 census reporting that seniors now outnumber children for the first time in the survey’s history. The percentage of those aged 65 and older climbed to 16.9% of Canada’s population, exceeding the share of those under 15 years old at 16.6%.
The median pay for an apprentice electrician in Fort McMurray is $26,000 above the national average, while on the opposite end a peer in Saskatoon earns $10,000 below the national average.
