Brady Transparent Gate Valve Lockout Device Wins 2016 Occupational Health & Safety New Product of the Year Award

October 21, 2016

Brady’s award-winning Transparent Gate Valve Lockout Device features a specially formulated transparent material to allow for both visual confirmation of the correct valve position and hazardous leak identification while in the locked out state, helping to ensure facility safety.

The device won a 2016 New Product of the Year award in the “Lockout/Tagout and Machine Guarding” category from Occupational Health & Safety magazine..

“Earning this Product of the Year recognition for our new transparent gate valve lockout device is a testament to our commitment to providing our customers with innovative and effective safety solutions,” says Tom Campbell, Global Product Manager, Lockout Tagout Solutions for Brady. “This device was designed to protect workers from hazardous energy and prevent exposure to hazardous chemicals by enabling visibility to valve leakage and correct valve positioning.”

The device is made of a rugged, specially formulated polycarbonate to provide chemical resistance. It’s available in five different sizes, accepts shackles up to 3/8-inch in diameter and can handles temperatures from -40°F to +250°F.

The OH&S Product of the Year contest attracted entries in 21 award categories, with an independent panel of three highly qualified judges choosing the winners. To be eligible for the 2016 awards, products must have been introduced to the market between July 5, 2015 and July 4, 2016.
