Long Bridge and IDT Systems Join Forces

February 23, 2017

Long Bridge Inc., specializing in the construction of custom electrical control panels, is merging with electrical control systems Integrator IDT Systems Inc. Both are located in Cambridge, Ontario.

The Long Bridge Management Team (John Milligan, President, and Peter Beacock, General Manager) has been working with Brian Brohman, President, and Mike Whitmore, Vice President of IDT Systems Inc. and their teams to ensure a smooth transition. The addition of IDT Systems Inc. and the 2014 purchase of Machine Control Systems create a combined workforce of more than 60 team members.

“The merger completes this phase of our growth activities,” says John Milligan. “Our attention now turns to the process of integrating our teams and aligning our goals to build a globally competitive control panel manufacturer. We can leverage more than 37,000 square feet of manufacturing space and bring a talented group of project managers, system designers and technicians to the marketplace. Our three companies are stronger together.”

In his new role as VP of Business Development, Brian Brohman adds, “We possess extensive experience in serval key areas across a number of industries, including air pollution control, dust collectors, scrubbers and spray dryer absorbers, odour control systems, milling equipment, plastics manufacturing, dense and dilute phase conveying of materials, pharmaceutical, and specialized equipment used in the oil and gas industry. The bringing together of all three companies greatly increases our manufacturing capabilities and our ability to take on larger integration and manufacturing projects.”

IDT Systems Inc. is a mid-sized electrical control systems Integrator with its own in-house panel shop. Established in 2000, IDT’s dedication to the client’s success on a project-to-project basis, is one of the key factors to its continued growth, along with IDT’s commitment to quality and the use of class-leading technologies to achieve a consistent, high level of customer satisfaction.

Long Bridge Inc. is a manufacturer of electrical control panels operating out of facilities in Mississauga, Guelph, and Cambridge. In most cases, Long Bridge Inc. control panels are one-of-a-kind products that are tested to ensure compliance with CSA/UL/CE standards and are used in a myriad of different applications worldwide.
