IDEAL Electrical Partners with Habitat for Humanity Greater Toronto Area to Support Affordable Housing Initiatives

Earlier this month, approximately 30 IDEAL Electrical employees and skilled electricians volunteered alongside Habitat for Humanity Greater Toronto Area (GTA) to help construct Countryside, an affordable 15-unit townhome development in Brampton that will welcome families later this year. Volunteers assisted with electrical wiring and rough-in installation and provide general construction support, helping create safe, high-quality homes for families in the Greater Toronto Area.

The project is a part of Habitat GTA’s ambitious commitment to build 2,000 homes by 2035.

The Brampton volunteer event was the second of four global Habitat for Humanity activations IDEAL has planned in 2026. They’ve already hosted one in LA, another in the UK, and the next is planned for DeKalb, Illinois in a few weeks.

As housing affordability continues to challenge communities across the region, the build demonstrates how skilled trades professionals can use their expertise to make a lasting local impact. 60% of Greater Toronto residents worry about sacrificing basic needs like food, clothing, living essentials and education to afford rent or mortgage payments, which is why as a brand serving the construction industry, IDEAL Electrical wants to be part of the solution.

The volunteer event is part of IDEAL Electricals’ global, three-year partnership with Habitat for Humanity International, a $1 million initiative that combines financial support, product donations and employee volunteerism to create safe, reliable, affordable homes and community facilities. The partnership, launched through IDEAL’s engagement platform, IDEAL Connections, represents the company’s commitment to Building an IDEAL World™.
