Good-bye to Chromalox’s Gordon Marshall
April 3, 2017
The electrical industry lost a dear friend and colleague in the passing of Gordon Marshall on March 27, 2017.
Gordon was a key part of the success of Canadian Chromalox and deeply involved in the industry in his role as the founding President of the Ontario Electrical league.
Gordon was predeceased by his wife Mary. The following is courtesy of The Toronto Star.
He had a true zest for life and lived life large. He was passionate about his family, friends, travels, his beloved home and garden and his “Marshall plonk.”
Graduating from University of Toronto in Engineering, he grew Chromalox into Canada’s premier electric heating company and retired as VP Sales and Marketing. He was General Manager of Heron Cable and was the founding President of the Ontario Electric League.
As he goes on his final voyage, he will be missed by his children Gordon (Linda) and Marianne, and grandchildren Bronwyn, Gordon, Olivia, Stephanie and Emily, as well as his dear friends Peter, Doug, Hal, neighbours and cousins.
The family is grateful to all the health professionals who supported Gordon to live a long life and to Joan and the care team who helped to honour his wish to spend his last days at home. Donations can be made to The Salvation Army or the Cardiac Rehab Program at Toronto Rehab.
A celebration of Gordon’s life will be held in the spring at St. George’s Golf Club in Toronto.
