April 11: Workplace Respect Course, Edmonton

Respect

Apr 2, 2018

The Electrical Contractors Association of Alberta (ECAA) has partnered with Mechanical Contractors Association (MCA) Alberta to offer a course on workplace respect.

Few people intend to be disrespectful toward others. Yet under stress we sometimes say and do things that damage working relationships without realizing it. Learn how to “show up” in ways that demonstrate respect for them and for yourself.

Upon completion of this session, frontline staff, supervisors, and managers will be able to

• define respectful behaviour
• identify their natural “interaction” style
• realize how they may unintentionally show disrespect for others (“blind spots”)
• know what their team members need from them in terms of respectful actions
• create a team charter for respect in the workplace

The course will be delivered by Julianna Cantwell, President of JUNA Consulting Inc., a strategic HR consulting practice that helps organizations improve individual and group performance. Specializing in learning and development for 20 years and communications for more than 15 years, Julianna logs over 100 days a year speaking and facilitating learning. The course runs from Time: 8:30 to 10:00 am.
