This fall Women Building Futures will host its inaugural Work Proud Summit in Edmonton, Alberta. This event will assemble leaders, influencers, and change-makers who will share best practices for creating workplaces that meet the challenges of the next generation.

Women Building Futures is a social purpose organization and registered charity based in Edmonton, Alberta. It provides hands-on skills training (e.g., electrical and solar energy basics), job referrals, and job retention support to women interested in a career in the construction and maintenance trades.

The Work Proud Summit 2018 is an opportunity to understand current contexts and challenges, and showcase innovative approaches to hiring, training, workplace safety and mentoring initiatives.

Keynote speakers include:

• Dr. Shawna Pandya, Physician Surgeon and Citizen Scientist
• Roberta Jamieson, President & CEO of Indspire

Session topics include:

• industry panel on the economic impacts of diverse and inclusive workplaces
• tools for change
• pay it forward — mentoring matters
• building futures
• leading with impact
