Alberta Home Builder to Add Solar Power to All New Homes
Jan 28, 2019
Jayman Built, an award-wining Alberta homebuilder, has committed to including solar panels in all new homes it builds this year. The builder has already been installing solar panels on the roofs of about 750 homes a year. The panels will be installed by Calgary-based SkyFireEnergy.
Other energy efficient features in Jayman Built homes include LED lighting and motion-sensor light switches.
The company says the financial benefits resulting from these practices, such as lower monthly operating costs, elegibility for rebates, and improved resale value, will make Jayman Built homes affordable. The company has earned eight builder of the year awards in both Edmonton and Calgary.
The company CEO has had solar panels on his own home since 2001.
