Stelpro Honours John Chabot

Steplro obit 400

Nov 1, 2019

It is with a heavy heart that Stelpro has announced the passing of Mr. John Chabot, father of Yves Chabot. This sad event occurred very suddenly on Wednesday, October 23, 2019.

For Stelpro, John will have been a strong builder. He began this wonderful project in 1981, in Drummondville. On November 19, the company will be celebrating its 38th anniversary. It was with unwavering confidence and great determination that he led the company during its first 25 years (1981 to 2006). He met all the challenges and overcame all the obstacles with tenacity, resolve and success.

John built a company that is now known throughout North America. Numerous Chabot family members have invested time and effort in the company, and one employee after another was welcomed into this extended family. John leaves us a solid company, which we will continue to grow by facing head on the new challenges that come our way. “My father has always been a mentor to me, and always will be,” said Yves Chabot, President of Stelpro. “He had a unique way of looking at the world, saying things and managing a company. He never left anyone indifferent! He left the industry 13 years ago, but people still talk to me about him – they always have great stories to tell.” John had just celebrated his 80th birthday, and he was still very active on both a personal and professional level.  Being in business was his life and his passion. He went to the gym three times a week, played golf on a regular basis and took walks with his wife every day. It was his recipe for a long and healthy life. The entire Stelpro team extends its deepest condolences to Yves and his loved ones. We would like to inform you that the funeral service will remain private, as per the wishes of Mr. Chabot and his family.
