IDEAL Nationals Underway in Run Up to Inaugural International Championships

CEW IDEAL Nationals 400

Nov 8, 2019

The IDEAL Nationals are underway with an 18 member Canadian Team supported by the IDEAL Industries Canada crew. This year over 55,000 electrical contractors and electricians competed worldwide so this is the cream of the crop competing here in Orlando.

The 2019 IDEAL National Championship is a highly charged, no-holds barred competition to determine the best electrician in North America, including teams from China, Australia and Mexico.

To make it to Orlando, contractors have to qualify first and numerous qualifying events were held throughout Canada.

Each event is a test of skill and race against the clock to complete a task using IDEAL® tools. The fastest times in every region in Canada advance to the Championship Weekend, while the winners of each qualifying event receive a Winners Package complete with a cooler, t-shirt, hat and other gear. The events are open to professionals and students/apprentices to compete individually, or in teams of two in the School Challenge and Contractor Challenge.

Over the next few days 84 professionals and 84 students/apprentices from the US and Canada will advance to Orlando to compete. They will be joined by 1 professional and 1 student/apprentice each from Australia and China, who will be competing against the best the US and Canada have to offer in the inaugural International Championship at the end of the weekend. Ideal supports travel, lodging and meals but competitors have to bring their own “A” game to get through four rounds of competition.
