EIN TW Becker MSM 400

March 8, 2021

Two like-minded companies in occupational health & safety have formed an alliance to provide an innovative solution for industry – a new online/mobile application to more effectively manage arc flash and shock hazards and ensure defendable credible due diligence to OH&S Acts and Regulations.

TWBESC’s Terry Becker, P.Eng., CESCP, Senior IEEE Member is a recognized Canadian Subject Matter Expert in electrical safety and quotes “I have been looking for the right partners and company to take electrical safety to the next level.” “Innovation in electrical safety” is a guiding principle of the IEEE Industrial Application Society (IAS), Electrical Safety Workshop (IEEE Electrical Safety Workshop https://electricalsafetyworkshop.com/) and a continuous improvement philosophy. The marriage of TWBESC’s compliant Electrical Safety Program with MSM eCOR OHS Software Platform will bring to industry a practical and cost effective ONLINE tool to take the management of arc flash & shock hazards to the next level of compliance!

MSM eCOR’s Paul Masotti, and Bernie Borgmann, the Principles of MSM eCOR bring with them decades of experience in occupational health & safety and IT applications. MSM eCOR’s cloud-based health & safety platform is breaking new ground in software that is fit for purpose, easy to use, adaptable by the client and readily deployable. “We created a complete cloud based OHS software platform that will allow you to improve your Organization’s compliance & accountability. Simplify your Health & Safety Management System by using our Web & App features that you can monitor in real-time.”

TW Becker Electrical Safety Consulting Inc.’s (TWBESC) Terry Becker, P.Eng., CESCP, IEEE Senior Member brings over 29 years of electrical experience, with 13 years directly related to electrical safety across all industry sectors. TWBESC has developed, a detailed, comprehensive and compliant Electrical Safety Program (CSA Z45001 (ISO 45001), ANSI Z10, Canadian COR Frameworks, OSHA OHSMS Management System Guideline/VPP) to the requirements of NFPA 70E 2021 Edition and the CSA Z462 2021 Edition (just published January 5, 2021). The TWBESC Electrical Safety Program is a “paper” based management system, moving it from a paper-based system to a digital cloud solution for clients comes with significant benefit to the employer and employees to be successful in the implementation and auditing of an Electrical Safety Program (PLAN-DO-CHECK-ACT).

MSM eCOR’s Paul Masotti, SET, CRSP, RPT, Paralegal and Bernie Borgmann, BBA, CSO, bring a combined 50 years of OH&S and IT experience. As safety professionals, they are in the trenches with clients implementing OHSMS, and auditing for performance management. Paul and Bernie knew other cloud applications were out there, but none of them provided a complete “turn-key” solution for the market.

Stop Chasing Documentation – Our Ready to Use OHS software platform was designed by safety professionals with the sole purpose to manage your data which allows you the time to focus on what is important within your OHSMS. Our cost savings solution will support any complexity within your OHSMS.

Manage Subcontractors – The Global Projects feature will improve the working relationships with your subcontractors by streamlining the OHS onboarding process, and any (un)scheduled legislative compliance requirements.

WHY

Innovating electrical safety with cloud-based deployment of an Electrical Safety Program puts the employer in an improved position of control of arc flash & shock hazards. Industry has been in a reactive mode related to arc flash and neglecting the shock hazard. Whether your company is small, medium or large in size, the same challenges are presented with respect to utilizing the policies, practices and procedural requirements of CSA Z462 Workplace electrical safety Standard or the NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace in the field to achieve acceptable due diligence.

Industry has been overwhelmed by the administrative burdens that CSA Z462 an NFPA 70E prescriptively impose. Workers are frustrated, may be overly delayed in “getting the job done,” and need access to the Electrical Safety Program documentation in real time for reference at the location a job will be completed. Supporting information is required following the receipt of arc flash & shock training to drive to electrical safety competency. An Energized Electrical Work Permit (EEWP) is required to be documented and signed before any Jobs with energized work tasks are completed (CSA Z462 Clause 4.3.2 or NFPA 70E Article 130.2), unless exempted. As identified in CSA Z462, Clause 4.1.7.9.2 or NFPA 70E Article 110.5 I)1) a Job Safety Plan shall be documented by the Qualified Person before they undertake energized electrical work tasks.

Administrative risk control methods have been a barrier to success for employers and employers. Cloud-based software applications with related phone/PDA applications have proven to be valuable for many purposes, in this case deployment and real-time management of a compliant Electrical Safety Program.
